Caring and courage propel SpeakEasy's tender 'Cost of Living'

To ensure the full authenticity of the care-giving and the individual quests for real living and connection, playwright Majok specifically asks that John and Ani be played by actors with disabilities—a request richly carried out by SpeakEasy Stage. Sean Leviashvili, a gay New Yorker born with cerebral palsy, captures John's vocal tension and his demanding stance in initially interviewing Jess and making sure his needs are fulfilled. – Bay Windows

“Witnessing Jess’s lack of patience and overall tension when learning how to interact with John is unsettling when put in contrast with John, who seems to know how to deal with these situations — perhaps because he has done so before. That upsetting feeling is a result of Leviashvili and Fonseca’s electric dynamic: The actors confidently bring these bold characters to life and then starkly express their different personalities and ways of life through their interactions.” – The Harvard Crimson
